Sara Selmić

Sara Selmić is a Bosnian artist currently based in Chicago, Illinois, whose research involves bioenergetics, ecology and material exploration. Her work is rooted in a spiritual connection to land and how humanity consumes land. Attempting to come to terms with her position in the physical and spiritual world, making objects serves as a conduit for this process of understanding.
During her time at KAMEN, Sara will make a work that consist of taking samples of soil, rocks and plants, etc. Studying and arranging them, and creating objects from them, in order to introduce a visual language as an assemblage – translates the land or Sara’s origin into tangible artifacts.
