Application Procedure

Every season, KAMEN has 12 spots available that we fill through an annual open call. Our interdisciplinary selection committee reviews applications based on the proposed residency project, its feasibility and suitability in the context of KAMEN, the quality of the applicant’s past work, vision and commitment to practice.  Before sending your application, make sure you have read about the residency program.

An application contains the following:

  • Personal information: Name, age, nationality, living address, phone number, e-mail address, picture.
  • Preferred time of residency. Please specify which of the following time blocks is of your choice: 
      • May 1 – June 19 
      • July 1 – August 19 
      • September 1 – October 20
        • If multiple options are possible, please specify so. If an alternative period is preferred, please specify so.
  • A project proposal. If applicable, also include a preliminary idea for a public presentation or possible outcome (max. two pages)
  • Artist statement, short bio and C.V. (max. two pages)
  • A brief letter of motivation considering the location of Bosnia-Herzegovina and/or modus operandi of KAMEN (max. one page)
  • If applicable: a brief description of local collaborators/partner institutions of interest (max. one page)
  • PDF portfolio that gives an overview of the development of work over the last 5 years.
  • If applicable: links to online works

Duration

KAMEN’s season extends from the 1st of May to the 31st of October. Residency periods have a duration of 7 weeks.

Residents can apply to the time blocks of:

  • May 1 – June 19 
  • July 1 – August 19 
  • September 1 – October 20 

If these periods do not suit you, please let us know in your application. We are willing to accommodate different schedules, if possible.

Deadline

The deadline to send a completed electronic application is on the 1st of February 2022.

Please send all materials in PDF format to info@kamen-artistresidency.com by February 1st 2022. If the file exceeds 10 MB, please use Wetransfer or other similar services for file transfer.
